NY Photos

It’s great to be in Houston, chilling out and relaxing for a change. Given me time to backup photos, write in journal and upload some photos to web. Now this is just a very small selection…. of about 438 photos I took in NY. Hope you like :-)

Long fun days

Well haven’t had time to blog yet alone write in my journal – 2 days behind. Am writing this at 11pm and all I really wanna do is sleep – but need to do this :-)

For a quick update this is what we’ve done in the past 2 days – no order, as brain to tired for that:
2nd musical – Memphis – just awesome, tour of Madison Square Gardens, awesome 2 hour bike ride through Central Park, shopping – Macy’s, Nike, H & M, Old navy :-) Massive shopping trip today…. Walked down Wall St, Went to the awesome NYPD museum – good tribute on 9/11, visited world trade centre, went on night bus and saw brooklyn and city lights of Manhattan…

With only 1 day left in NY we’ve had to prioritise. Because it’s about a 4 hour wait to get on ferry to go to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Isalnd – we’ve had to give that a miss. It means however we still get to do more around NY. Tomorrow we will do a circle line tour of the whole island so that will be great. PLus everything else we haven’t had time to do – and that’s alot. Going to our last show tomorrow night before heading to Houston on Thursday to stay with Vanessa and Dan. I shall be sad to leve NY – our hotel’s back door is broadway – we have 3 broadway theatres on our doorstep – I LOVE IT!!!!! I’m sad to leave but excited about the rest of our adventure!!!

New York Rocks

Arrived yesterday easy trip to hotel. Hotel rocks. Checked in then headed out to Times Sq (TS) for a look around. Did 23, 000 + steps in half a day, wonder what the other days will bring :-) Did NY City ride – intro to NY – like a simulator. Then onto Top of the Rock - awesome view over Central Park – amazing. Back to TS to line up in cheap TIKS. Saw Million Dollar Quartet - just awesome. Mum you would have loved it. Bought the CD. At this time Rod and I were fighting to stay awake. We’d had a few small sleeps on the 3 plane trip, but dropping quickly. Walked home – bloody hot now and totally packed. Cops everywhere in TS like a movie – but all good all safe! Awesome 1st day and night – cant’ wait for more!!!!

Departure date has arrived!!

Fly out in about 6 hours…. Just coloured my hair and hanging around. Might go for a walk and get my steps up for GCC. Double check we have everything and then away we go. Tomorrow we’ll be in NY and the weather is a balmy 37 degrees with a few showers – oh well – at least it’s hot – not like freezing Perth. We are flying Singapore Airlines – 1st time – so many people have told me they are great – looking forward to that.
Hope to blog when I can – see ya :-)

Counting Down

Only a few days til take off! I’ve finished all my goals @ work, we’ve packed our backpacks and just waiting for the day to arrive! I’ve been keeping an eye on the weather – it is the wet season in the USA – but it’s still hot, so I’ve gotta be happy with that. I’m prepared, bought myself a small umbrella and have a waterproof jacket. Won’t stop us wandering around the streets of New York…… Come Saturday we’ll be hopping off at JFK airport.
